TrendTek BACKGROUND TrendTek Australia Pty Limited was formed by a group of people who were formerly from the large Australian Company, Exicom Australia Limited. Exicom was a major supplier of customer premises telecommunications equipment (CPE) into markets in Australia, South-East Asia, Pacific Forum Nations and the Gulf States. A characteristic of these markets was a strong focus on product performance and adherence to specifications, particularly with respect to environmental performance both in the physical and electrical domains. The technical and market experience of the TrendTek management team with their wealth of knowledge and experience in defining market needs and in designing customer equipment to meet those needs has resulted in TrendTek's rapid growth from its early beginnings in 1997.

In keeping with this growth, Trendtek's product line-up has increased to fill the needs of the rapidly expanding global requirements for the latest telecommunications products and services.

The principals of TrendTek are all well known to, and respected by, their appropriate counterparts in the various PTT operating authorities throughout the Pacific region. To these authorities, we are truly their Pacific Partner.

CUSTOMER NEEDS
Recognizing the needs of the PTT operating authorities for well-defined and designed equipment of the highest quality, TrendTek was established to capitalise on this opportunity.
The first, and most important requirement of any supply process, is to fully define the customer's needs, both in the areas of product performance and reliability and also in the associated commercial aspects of price, delivery and terms of trade.

Having filled these objectives, the technical aspects of the product must be met, documented, and confirmed as being achievable under the range of environmental stresses that the customer requires.
Beyond this stage, the final needs are to achieve the customer's delivery requirements both in time and also in relation to on-going product quality.

TrendTek is well positioned to address all of these functions intrinsic in the supply chain having initiated and participated in many similar projects over a long period of time.
The emphasis within TrendTek is one of close and on-going customer and internal communication in order to ensure that all of the aspects are considered as a total entity and that the product and its supply process are not biased into any particular area.

In addition to the design of specific products to meet customer needs, TrendTek also sources products on world markets where the economics of supply, time and technical constraints dictate that approach.
Within TrendTek, there is a large knowledge base of products and their suppliers which can be accessed to meet the needs of various customers.
TrendTek is committed to provide full product support, both technical and commercial for any product sourced in this manner.

SERVICES
While TrendTek's principal objective is to design and source products for their customers, the engineering and market knowledge within the Company is available for direct application to the needs of customers.
Areas such as contract design, achievement and monitoring of certification, product support, market assessment, planning, and if required, market implementation are all services which TrendTek is able to provide.
From experience, these services are particularly relevant to overseas suppliers wishing to enter the Australian and Pacific markets where local knowledge and support are implicit in gaining and maintaining market success.
